"Not Right Now"

We weren't designed to cope with others having access to us 24/7.

Yet, often times, we're villainized or made to feel guilty because we didn't answer someone's call, respond to their email, or reply to their text quickly enough.

"You stopped replying because you fell asleep? Yea right."

The way we live right now, with constant dings, rings, and notifications is not conducive to optimal health, success, or any other metric we may or may not care about.

But fortunately...

We don't need to answer the text. We don't need to pick up the facetime. We don't need to open our door when someone knocks.

And it's not an indication of how much we do or do not like, respect, or care about someone.

Our brain, the brain that was designed to eat berries in a cave, is simply overwhelmed - and needs some time to itself.

Which is why I created this piece.

To be a gentle reminder that it's okay to wait. It's okay to take time to yourself, and to show yourself grace when you do so.

When you hold your phone. When you take a sip of coffee. When you put your hand on the steering wheel.

You'll be reminded that it's okay to take a moment. A long moment. As many moments as you need.
